Green Fee

As the cost of energy becomes more expensive, we are going to feel this increase at the pump, the grocery store, and yes, at UNCW. Many campuses across the country are taking the initiative to develop the necessary infrastructure to reduce energy costs on their campuses. We would like the same for UNCW.

UNC Chapel Hill and Appalachian State are already addressing this issue. Their students voted on whether or not to have a green fee. For just $10 each semester, paid for along with your other student fees, this money will be used by the university to fund renewable energy projects on campus. Ultimately saving our environment and saving you money.

For more information, please check out the programs established at Appalachian State and UNC Chapel Hill. They did it........successfully. What is UNCW waiting for? Get the word out to your friends, professors, parents, fellow classmates and community members. We need your help to make this a reality and will soon be adding an interest poll on the site........

We hope to have the student body vote on such a green fee during the 2008-2009 school year.

The students have a right to decide where there money goes! Let us know your thoughts and we will post them on the comments page.
