Lauren Hazlett
Officer of Campus Sustainability
Lauren is studying Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics. Working on behalf of UNCW's Green Team, she helps recycle for all the housing and resident's life buildings, in addition to, finding ways to increase the environmental awareness of the UNCW community.
She became a part of UNCW ECO a year ago, and since then her love and understanding of the environment has only deepened and strengthened. Lauren is especially passionate about veganism and animal rights and how it ties so intimately to the state of the environment.
Lauren says, “Deep ecology is extremely fascinating to me, and it makes me strive to live as compassionately as I can, reducing suffering and harm to those aspects of life that are not rightfully respected.”
